At the April 9th, 2025, Council Hearing, Town Council refused Bylaw 2025/01/D to make the following amendments to Land Use Bylaw 2024/03/D:
Create Direct Control District DC-4 that allows for a crematorium as a discretionary use and other compatible residential and institutional uses on Plan 170KS Block 17 Lot 20 (5029 48 Street – Funeral Home).
Redistrict Plan 170KS Block 17 Lot 20 from the Public Services District (P-S) to the proposed Direct Control District (DC-4).
Remove Section 7.8.2 from the Land Use Bylaw. This Section requires a crematorium to be a minimum separation distance of 150m from Schools or School Reserve Lands, Daycare Services, and Residential Uses.
