NOTICE OF STATUTORY PUBLIC HEARING FOR BYLAW 2025/04/D:
Amendment to Land Use Bylaw 2024/03/D


Wednesday, June 4, 9:00 am,
Council Chambers, Drayton Valley Civic Centre: 5120-52 Street, Drayton Valley, AB


The Town is proposing to:

  1. Amend the Land Use Bylaw 2024/03/D by changing the size of allowable acreage in the Residential Acreage District (R-ACG).
  1. The purpose of the Residential Acreage District is “to provide low-density development on lots from 1.21 ha (3 ac) to 10.12 ha (25 ac) in areas where multiparcel urban development is not practical”.

2. Adding a Residential Compact Acreage District (R-CA).

ii. The purpose of the Residential, Compact Acreage District is “to provide for higher density Acreage Residential development on lots from 0.4 ha (1 ac) to 1.21 ha (3 ac) in areas where multiparcel urban development is not practical”.

Please be advised that Town Council will be holding a Statutory Public Hearing to receive comments, questions, and concerns regarding the Bylaw. The public hearing will also be virtually broadcast via Webex, the Town’s online streaming platform. Your attendance is encouraged as this is your opportunity to express your views.

If you cannot attend, you are encouraged to submit comments in writing to the Planning and Development department email provided below, or in-person at the Civic Center prior to the hearing on or before May 28th, 2025. Written submissions received after this date will be provided to Town Council as part of the formal public hearing.

Any petitions regarding this proposal must be filed with the Town’s Chief Administrative Officer in accordance with the Municipal Government Act Sections 219, 221, 222, 223, 224 & 225.
